Vertex vs Airtable

Deciding between Vertex and Airtable

Vertex vs Airtable

Vertex and Airtable have a similar UI and can be used for many of the same things - how should you decide between the two? Airtable markets itself as a generalist business solution for automating tasks using its classic spreadsheet-like UI, API, and views of tables. Similarly, Vertex offers a spreadsheet-like UI, API, and sub-views of data tables. But there are many differences between the two: Vertex is built on Postgres and allows you to turn any existing Postgres database into an instant admin tool for your team whereas Airtable puts more focus on the spreadsheet features such as being able to drag to select and fill cells, using formulas, and importing CSVs.

Vertex

  • Often requires you to eventually migrate off of it once your project becomes successful
  • Can be connected to other no-code tools
